Peaks of Longing

$2,000.00

24×30 Oil Painting on Stretched Canvas

I could have easily named this one ‘spring break 2025’. I didn’t travel anywhere this year. It was actually kind of nice just to stay home and work in the studio without interruptions or having to run off somewhere. This composition consisted of 4-5 reference photos that I merged into this one. It wasn’t until I was nearly done with the painting that I realized the mountain in the background was of Long’s Peak in Colorado. I believe Longs Peak is the highest peak in the state and is a hiking favorite for hardcore hikers. I was obviously on a different trail when I took the photo and you sometimes don’t realize what you are looking at over these distances. (Especially if you are from out of town.) This was a fun one to paint and I put a lot of time into it. I think it was worth every moment!
